It was Bishop Louis commitment to insuring Catholic schools form disciples that really caught Ron's attention when they first met.

On August 6 of last year, I lifted many of the COVID-19 precautions instituted in the Diocese of Biloxi. Since then, much progress has been made in controlling the spread of the virus. I am now lifting all other remaining cautionary provisions with the exception of making hand sanitizer available for everyone entering parish buildings and regular cleaning of holy water fonts/stoups. I will celebrate Mass at Nativity BVM Cathedral at this time and I ask all priests to join me. All the faithful are invited to attend. The Mass will be livestreamed. I met Bishop Vitaliy Kryvytsky at the Masters of Spirituality conference for new bishops hosted by Pope Francis in September 2017 in Rome. There were 120 bishops from around the world participating in the conference. Quickly we all got a view of the universality of the Church and the fact that we are united in one faith no matter what language we spoke. 

We, the undersigned, are the Catholic Bishops of the Dioceses of Jackson and Biloxi that encompass the state of Mississippi in its entirety. We are writing in unison to express our concern over Senate Bill 2643, specifically its 13th addition that in effect is opening the door to a process of unilateral divorce that is subject to abuse on many fronts. A few years ago, I discovered a healing ministry called Rachel’s Vineyard.  It is a ministry that provides healing and forgiveness for women who have had abortions, and also for women and men who have suffered from abortion.   Rachel’s Vineyard is a 3-day retreat facilitated by both laypeople and clergy.
