Easter Message from Bishop Kihneman 2023
    April 5, 2023
by Most Reverend Bishop Louis F. Kihneman, III
"Behold, I make all things new" (Revelation 21:5). Jesus Christ comes to us to make all things new! This is the message of Holy Week. Jesus Christ wants to bring about in us a new creation, and this is the renewal that is being offered to us this Holy Week, revealed in radiance on Easter Sunday. Brothers and Sisters, let us not take this time for granted but become renewed in the Risen Christ. Let us be renewed, as St. Pope John Paul II proclaimed in his 2003 Encyclical Letter, Ecclesia de Eucharistia, in "Eucharistic amazement," remembering that each time we come to Mass, we encounter the same Risen Christ who conquered sin and death forever. • Joint Statement Regarding Working Together Mississippi: Postpartum
    February 24, 2023
by Bishop Joseph R. Kopacz and Bishop Louis F. Kihneman, III
The health of new mothers and children are inextricably linked. Mississippi has the highest rate of infant mortality in the country, while the mortality rate for new mothers is among the highest and is rising sharply. The health of children and the health of their mothers is connected to their mutual access to quality healthcare. Racial disparities are also growing wider.
